Major I graduated with a major in Biology and will be attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. I am interested in research and also in owning my own mixed practice, providing medical care for both large and small animals. St. Andrews has rigorous programs for Biology and Chemistry, which have provided me with a solid foundation on which I plan to build my knowledge of veterinary medicine Extracurricular I was involved with various extracurricular activities on campus. I was Secretary of Tri-Beta, the National Biological Honor Society. I was an active member of the Honors Program, and I participated in the equestrian lesson program my freshman and sophomore years. In addition, I was a campus photographer; I took pictures for St. Andrews, of everything from sports games and student activities to yearbook portraits and pictures of the gorgeous campus. |
Why St. Andrews? St. Andrews is like no other school I’ve ever visited or attended. The campus is a very close-knit community. The professors know their students by name, and many students form close relationships with their professors. The professors at St. Andrews CARE deeply about the success of their students. They constantly put forth great effort to help out their students in any way they can. Although St. Andrews is a small school, it is very diverse. It is home to students from all over the world: students with different personalities, beliefs, skills, and abilities. This is an aspect that has been very important to me. Being at St. Andrews for almost four years now has really opened my mind to cultures different from my own. I’ve grown so much as a person from being exposed to different ways of life, and the atmosphere at St. Andrews provides this opportunity for students. |

Faculty I have been a member of Dr. Bushoven’s classes for four years now as part of the SAPC General Honors Program, and I have learned so much from these classes. We have studied everything from world religions to the Enlightenment, and from quantum physics to ethics. Dr. Bushoven is someone I have worked with almost constantly since first coming to SAPC. He was very helpful while I completed my Junior Honors Thesis last year, and is assisting me while I am currently writing my Senior Honors Thesis. |
Experiences There are many parts of my St. Andrews experience that mean a lot to me; however, the friends I have made at SAPC are probably what mean the most to me. The friends I have made while at St. Andrews are some of my best friends. We have become so close over our four years at college together, and I know that I can always count on them for whatever I need. I know, without a doubt, that we will be lifelong friends. Graduation may separate us physically, but we will always be close. |
