SAU Hunter Seat Team extends regional lead

Laurinburg, NC - The St. Andrews University Hunter Seat Team tied with East Carolina University (ECU) for first place at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) competition at the St. Andrews Equestrian Center on Saturday.

The points from the weekend allowed St. Andrews to maintain a 77-point advantage over ECU in the season conference standings. Duke University, the University of North Carolina Wilmington and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill round out the top five.

Tara Algieri, Caitlyn Woychik, Kelsey Kocher, Cami Glaff, Tessarae Thompson and Reba Merritt contributed first place finishes in their respective divisions at the show.

Algieri, Kocher, Madison Edwards, Regina Barasch and Jake Hobson added second place finishes to the point total.

Shiloh Kozlowski, Keli Van Den Heuvel, Nicole Napoleone, Kathryn Owens, and Samantha Taylor earned third place finishes.

Rachaell Dockery, Alexandra Fullerton and Danielle Eads finished in fourth place in their respective divisions with Dara Corbett contributing a fifth place finish.

The Hunter Seat Team will next compete on March 22 in the Hunter Seat Regionals at the St. Andrews Equestrian Center.
