5th Annual Ride Like A Knight Horse Show Saturday
Laurinburg, NC - St. Andrews University will hold the 5th Annual Ride Like A Knight (RLAK) Horse Show on Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Equestrian Center.
Free and open to the public, the show is a part of the Therapeutic Horsemanship program at the University focused on using a horse to improve a rider’s physical and emotional health. Riders in the program range from age 5 to 60. St. Andrews University students participate in the program as volunteers as part of the curriculum for the Therapeutic Horsemanship major.
“The show will kick off with a reining demo done by one of the SAU western team members,” said Liz Dulski, RLAK program director and assistant director of Therapeutic Horsemanship at St. Andrews. “The horse show will include each rider going through the set course.”
Following the ride, each participant will receive a ribbon for their accomplishments as well as have a photo taken.
“An event like this requires a lot of coordination and volunteers,” said Dulski. “We will have many of the SAU equestrian students participating in the event as volunteers.”
Recent Scotland County Teacher of the Year and St. Andrews alumnus Mike Kryszak will serve as the announcer and judge for the event.
