| "My liberal arts education prepared me, not only for graduate school in a very specialized area, but also for work requiring communication, writing, analytical and problem solving skills. I've often thought that having a well-rounded education has helped me achieve balance in my life and has helped me develop a perspective with regard to how an individual fits into the unfolding flow of history. I've enjoyed a variety of positions in addition to my current work in development: from university teaching to helping college and university teachers understand students' learning styles to chairing an administrative tribunal hearing grievances against the government in areas related to education. A liberal arts education lets you go out and encounter the world!" (2006) |
