Conference appoints three St. Andrews athletics staff to committees
May 19, 2008
LAURINBURG, N.C.—Three St. Andrews Presbyterian College athletic staff members have been appointed to represent Conference Carolinas in NCAA Regional Advisory Committees for the next three years. Director of Athletics Brian Mand will represent baseball, head coach Elizabeth Burris will represent softball, and head coach Michael Lawson will represent men’s lacrosse.
Mand, Burris, and Lawson are the only three members of the Knights athletics department that serve on any of the league’s regional committees. All three will serve on their respective boards for three year terms until 2011.
“The appointment of St. Andrews’ athletic staff to the NCAA Regional Advisory Committees in three sports demonstrates that Conference Carolinas has respect for the Knights athletics program, coaches and administrative staff and our ability to represent and serve not only the Conference but the NCAA as well on these important sport committees,” said Mand. “We hope this is a trend that will continue in the future and additional St. Andrews’ coaches and administrators will be appointed to other sport committees as vacancies occur.”
The primary job of Regional Advisory Committee members is to recommend regional tournament team selections for postseason competition in each sport.
