HARTSVILLE, S.C.—Sophomore Heather Bolwerk (Appleton, Wis.) tied her career-high mark of 14 kills and three Lady Knights recorded double-doubles as St. Andrews Presbyterian College earned its first Conference Carolinas victory with a 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-12, 25-22) win at Coker College on Tuesday evening.

St. Andrews picked up its first Conference Carolinas win on Tuesday, spoiling Coker College's home opener with a 25-18, 23-25, 25-12, 25-22 victory in Timberlake-Lawton Gym.

Bolwerk finished with a team-high 14 kills and 13 digs for her first double-double of the season and fifth of her career, helping St. Andrews snap a five-match skid. The Knights improve to 6-5 overall and 1-1 in the league.

The Cobras, who fell to 1-10 and 0-2, bounced back after losing the first set with a narrow win in the second frame to tie the match at 1-1 but Coker was unable to contain the Knights in the final two sets as St. Andrews pulled away for the victory.

A pair of specialists also tallied double-doubles for the Knights. Senior Jaime Hayes (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) had match-high 24 assists to go along with 10 digs while freshman Kelly Stine (Fort Collins, Colo.) registered 17 digs and 12 assists. Stine has posted two consecutive double-doubles.

Defensively, senior Courtney McDonald (Leander, Texas) tied Stine with a match-high 17 digs. A total of five St. Andrews players reached double figures in digs including sophomore Erica Davis (Tulsa, Okla.) with 14.

SAPC had its best offensive match since its last win, hitting .143 as a team. The Knights averaged 20.5 digs and 3.75 blocks per set in holding Coker to a .016 hitting percentage.

Senior Galina Podolsky (Raleigh, N.C.) notched 11 kills and only two errors in 24 attempts for a .375 percentage. The middle blocker stuffed away a match-high six total blocks.

Bolwerk and Davis each served up two aces and Stine added five spikes.

Leading the Cobras was Kristin Teets (Columbia, S.C.) with seven kills and five digs, while Cynallyhia Indriago (Columbia, S.C.) had six kills and four digs. Abby Frame (Sylvania, Ohio) had 21 assists and 10 digs.

St. Andrews hosts a pair of Conference Carolinas foes this weekend. The Knights entertain Belmont Abbey College on Friday night at 7 p.m. and then battle Lees-McRae College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
