LAURINBURG, N.C.—Lyndsey Boswell, head women’s lacrosse coach at St. Andrews Presbyterian College for the past three years, has resigned effective immediately to become the head coach at NCAA Division I High Point University.
“I want to thank Howard Reichner [former SAPC Athletic Director] for giving me the opportunity to be a head coach so early in my career,” said Boswell. “The staff at St. Andrews has been so great through my three years, and I wish all the programs the best of luck in the future. I am sad to leave my team, but I know St. Andrews will find another coach that is just as dedicated to St. Andrews and lacrosse and will be ready to keep this team on the right track to a conference championship.”
Boswell has taken the Lady Knights women’s lacrosse program from a fledgling program to a conference and regional contender over the past three seasons. Boswell accumulated a 24-31 record in her tenure at SAPC including the program’s first-ever winning record of 11-8 in 2009. Boswell-guided teams have rewritten the St. Andrews women’s lacrosse record book by setting new marks in almost every team and individual category.
Boswell is the all-time winningest women’s lacrosse coach at St. Andrews with 24 wins. She has guided the Lady Knights to a pair of postseason victories, the first two in the program’s history. She has coached eight conference Players of the Week, seven All-Conference selections, two IWLCA/US Women’s Lacrosse All-Region honorees, two conference All-Tournament award winners, and one IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-American at SAPC.
Boswell is leaving St. Andrews to work for another young women’s lacrosse program at High Point. Boswell added, “High Point has provided me with a great opportunity, one that I couldn't pass down, so I am looking forward to getting started there right away.”
A graduate of Pfeiffer University, Boswell earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in human services while being an All-American student-athlete on the Falcons women’s lacrosse team.
St. Andrews will immediately begin the search for Coach Boswell’s replacement.
