LAURINBURG, N.C.—Third year head coach Joe Baranik has announced the signing of Will James to a Letter of Commitment to wrestling and study at St. Andrews Presbyterian College during the fall early signing period. James is the first grappler committed to the SAPC Class of 2013.
“We are excited to get the caliber of young man in Will James,” said Baranik.
The Mount Pleasant, S.C., native was a state runner-up last year for Wando High School at 103-pounds. Also, James has attended numerous summer techniques camps throughout the country. He is wrestling at 119-lbs this year and is projected to hit the mat at 125-lbs for the Knights.
“James encompasses all the important ingredients to be a successful student-athlete, or what I call the three A's: Attitude, Academics and Athletic ability. He excels in all three of these critical areas,” added Baranik.
James is also being recruited to run cross country for SAPC. He currently competes in cross country in high school, which will help keep his conditioning up for wrestling.
“James is a class kid and I can't wait to begin to work with him to help him reach his goals in the classroom and on the mats,” concluded Baranik.
