GAFFNEY, S.C.—St. Andrews Presbyterian College sophomore Casey Gashaw (Laurinburg, N.C.) won his third straight dual match in a seven day span, but the Limestone College wrestling team rolled to the 46-3 East Region victory on Thursday evenings in Timken Gym.
The No. 11 regionally ranked Saints picked up their fifth victory of the season thanks in part to 30 points on five forfeit wins. Jeremy Parker, ranked fifth in the East Region at 141 pounds, highlighted the win for Limestone with a pin fall victory.
Gashaw disposed of John Harper with an 8-5 decision, earning his 10th victory of the season. Gashaw’s win helped cut the score to 4-3 after SAPC lightweight Matt Fletcher (Stephens City, Va.) lost by major decision.
The Knights were close in picking up points in the other two bouts that took place but sophomore Greg Todd (Gloucester, Va.) and freshman Mike Frazzitta (Fayetteville, N.C.) lost their respective matches, 4-1 and 4-3.
St. Andrews travels to Jefferson City, Tenn., for the EDSOUTH Tournament hosted by Carson-Newman College on Saturday, February 14.
