In their own words...
"Living on campus is a life experience I have learned so much from. We eat together, watch TV together, study together, and do absolutely nothing together. When I go home for breaks, it's like I'm leaving my second family!"
- Jess Cutler, Class of '10, from FL

Anime Club

The Anime Club examines Japanese culture using anime (a type of Japanese cartoon) as a primary popular culture reference and a spring board to other mediums. At the beginning of every semester, students vote on three animes to watch throughout the semester. Since most of the animes are in Japanese with English subtitles, club members begin to understand basic Japanese phrases.

Anime Club also sponsors two Anime convention trips each year.  In the fall, club members travel to Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) where students meet their favorite voice actors and attend discussions on the impact of Japanese culture on American culture.  Last spring, members of the Anime Club attended JAMP con in Chattanooga Tennessee.

The Anime Club also sponsors assorted activities in conjunction with Scotia Village, a local retirement community.  Members are required to volunteer at events that benefit the St. Andrews community such as assisting the library staff in sponsoring a Halloween party.
