SAU Western Team wins Semi-Finals

Morehead, Ky. - The St. Andrews University Western Team won the 2013 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Western Semi-Finals over the weekend in Morehead, Ky.

The team will join Middle Tennessee State and the University of Kentucky in competing at the National Championships April 30 - May 6 in Harrisburg, Pa.

In addition to the team’s accomplishments, several St. Andrews riders will be competing at Nationals as individuals.

Michelle Hustad was first in Open Horsemanship. Kali Cram was first in Advanced Horsemanship. Brittany Powell was first in Novice Horsemanship.

Katie Mosca was second in Intermediate Horsemanship. Dugan McDermott was third in Beginner Horsemanship. Ella Brave will compete in Reining after a fourth place finish.

“Congratulations to all these students and coach Carla Wennberg for bringing this championship to St. Andrews,” said Equestrian Director Peggy McElveen.
