SAU Western Team Reserve National Champion for IHSA

Reserve National Champion Western Team

Harrisburg, Pa. - The St. Andrews University Western Team earned Reserve Champion Status at the 2013 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championships on Sunday in Harrisburg, Pa.

The St. Andrews Team finished behind West Texas A&M University and ahead of Ohio State University, University of Findlay and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

“This group worked really hard,” said Coach Carla Wennberg. “It’s like life, you work hard to reap the benefits. This has truly been a team together.”

Sami Cram earned reserve champion in team Novice Horsemanship. Brittany Powell, Logan Teeter and Vicky Wiese earned third place in their respective team competitions while Michelle Hustad and Ella Brave earned fourth place for the team.

In individual competitions on the western side, Powell was reserve champion in Individual Novice Horsemanship as was Dugan McDermott in Individual Beginner Horsemanship. Katie Mosca earned seventh in Individual Intermediate Horsemanship. Kali Cram, Michelle Hustad and Brave were eighth in their respective individual classes.

The St. Andrews Hunter Seat Team finished eight at the Nationals with Skidmore College earning the championship.

Cami Glaff was reserve champion in Team Novice Over Fences with Sami Cram third in Team Intermediate Over Fences. Also contributing to the team totals were Jake Hobson, Madison Edwards, Katie Hansen, and Kali Cram.

In individual hunter seat competition, Sami Cram was reserve champion in Individual Novice Over Fences. Shiloh Kozlowski and Kim Graves also placed in individual events.
