2013 Laurinburg Area Campaign to support St. Andrews successful

Laurinburg, N.C. - For the 18th consecutive year, the Laurinburg Area Campaign to support St. Andrews University exceeded the $500,000 goal.
“We raised $532,032 from 294 local donors,” said co-chair Bill Purcell II. “We had a great leadership team this year to help cultivate the continuing success.”

Purcell was joined in co-chairing by his wife Terri. Team leaders were Julian Butler, Susan Covington, Mac Doubles, Jim and Lynn Mason, Ken Nichols, Sen. Bill Purcell, and Mike Vinson.

“The reason for the success of the Laurinburg Area Campaign for St. Andrews every year is our extraordinarily committed group of volunteers,” said Campus President Paul Baldasare. “This year was no exception. With Bill and Terri Purcell co-chairing the Campaign along with our other top volunteers, we again had an unbeatable team for which all of us at St. Andrews are extremely grateful.”

While the 2013 campaign ended on May 31, donations can be made by clicking give or calling 910-277-5664.

"We all know that St. Andrews distinguishes us from other small rural communities," said Purcell. "It is a major employer, and brings in tourism dollars for athletic events and horse shows. It not only has an economic impact, but a cultural and lifestyle impact as well."
