SAU, ENCORE! holding auditions for spring production

Laurinburg, NC - The St. Andrews University Theatre Program and ENCORE! Theatre of Laurinburg will be holding auditions this Saturday at 10 a.m. and Monday at 7 p.m. in the Morris Morgan Theatre on the University campus for the upcoming production of Kill Me, Deadly, by Bill Roben.

The play will be presented by special permission of Playscripts, Inc., the weekends of April 3 and 11.

“The cast is mixed gender with character ages between 20 and 60,” said Christopher Wood, director. “We invite the Laurinburg community and the St. Andrews community to audition.”

Set in Los Angeles, the play follows gumshoe Charlie Nickels as he investigates the murder of a client and the theft of her 300-karat diamond.

Packed with romance, intrigue and murder, this detective noir is a smart parody that will keep the audience guessing until the end.

“Sam Spade and Humphrey Bogart would be proud of the intrigue, suspense and tongue-in-cheek humor embodying this production,” said Wood.
